The challenge

Anyone with migraines knows how hard it is, and existing treatments can bring side effects. Theranica's method, an armband that triggers the body's own pain inhibitors, had to become a friendly product and a clear brand that speaks to patients and physicians.

  • Development
  1. ResearchIn-depth interviews, workshops and user tests of different UX solutions.
  2. BrandBrand strategy, positioning and a full graphic system.
  3. AppA simple experience that lets users set the treatment level, and lets the app learn their migraine pattern.
  4. BuildFrom first connection to the device, through treatment cycles, to back-end physician monitoring and replenishment.
Dark-theme app screens: pairing, treatment intensity and a calendarThe product website on a laptop

Key decision

Design for the moment of the attack.

Users open the app during a migraine: sensitive to light, distracted, with a short attention span. Every screen was designed for that.
